Biography

Angelo Krassini was born in 1954 in Sofia (Bulgaria). He entered the Moscow Design and Craft Institute in 1974 and graduated with honours diploma and prize in 1979. From 1979 to 1981 he worked at the Bulgarian Cultural Center in Warsaw and specialized jewellery. From 1986 to 1990 he worked as a chief artist jewellery design at the Bulgarian Union of artists (UBA). Since 2009 he has been member of the Board of UBA.

    Angelo Krassini took part in all representative exhibitions in Bulgaria from 1980 to 1990, as well as:

  • 1984 – Kill (Germany)
  • 1984 – Erfurt (Germany)
  • 1987 – Jablonec (Czechoslovakia)

    He had one man show:

  • Plovdiv (Bulgaria) – 1982 and 1988
  • Prague (Czechoslovakia) – 1989
  • Berlin (Germany) - 1989
  • Budapest (Hungary) - 1989
  • Sofia, National Museum of Bulgarian Art – 2004
  • Sofia, Arte Gallery - 2009

Angelo Krassini was awarded the second prize in 1986 at the Erfurt Quadrienalle and prized by the Bulgarian Union of Artists in 1987 and 2007. His works can be seen in the National Museum of Bulgarian Art in Sofia and in the Museum of town Yambol (Bulgaria), Lalaonis Jawelry Museum in Athens, as well as in private collections. Now the aim of Krassini’s work is to restore the traditional technologies and elements of the antique jawellery art.
